NYU Abu Dhabi has announced the launch of the first-ever PhD program in Astrophysics and Space Systems in the region. This groundbreaking program is set to begin in Fall 2025 and is designed to prepare students for careers in space exploration and the rapidly expanding space industry.
The five-year program offers two specialized tracks. The Astrophysics track focuses on theoretical studies of the universe, while the Space Systems track emphasizes engineering and practical applications for space technology. The program will be led by renowned international scholars and aims to develop a new generation of experts in space science and technology.

Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi highlighted the program’s importance, stating that it will play a significant role in advancing knowledge and fostering innovation in space science.
