After more than two years of research, testing, and careful planning, the UAE has successfully launched its first locally made hybrid rocket.
The team at the Technology Innovation Institute, made up of skilled experts and young engineers, worked closely with local companies to build strong and high-quality parts, including carbon-fiber components to make the rocket lighter and stronger.
They carried out many computer simulations, ground tests, and practice runs at the launch site to make sure all systems—such as communication and control systems—worked properly.
Even moments before launch, engineers were still adjusting the software. The rocket lifted off successfully, separated into two parts as planned, and safely returned to the ground using parachutes.
This achievement is an important first step for the UAE as it moves toward launching satellites and advancing its space and aerospace research programs.
