The UAE has introduced the region’s first integrated climate monitoring system, designed to track greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution in real time.
The new system, unveiled at GITEX Global 2025, marks a major step in the country’s efforts to tackle climate change. It will provide accurate and up-to-date data that policymakers can use to create stronger, evidence-based climate strategies and move closer to achieving the UAE’s NetZero 2050 goals.
Developed by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the system uses advanced technology to automatically collect and report environmental data from different sectors, cutting reporting time by more than 80%.
This digital platform makes it easier for both government institutions and private companies to measure, track, and manage their carbon emissions. By doing so, it encourages greater accountability and supports the UAE’s long-term vision for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
