On the occasion of UAE Flag Day, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan shared a heartfelt message about the importance of this national celebration. He said that Flag Day is a time to look back at the UAE’s incredible journey as a nation, to remind ourselves of the values that bring all Emiratis together, and to look forward with confidence to the younger generations who will continue building the country’s bright future.
While the UAE celebrates its National Day, also known as Eid Al Etihad, on December 2 each year to mark the historic moment in 1971 when Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan became the first President of the UAE, Flag Day holds a different but equally special meaning. Observed every year on November 3, UAE Flag Day honors the memory and leadership of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who took office on this date.
The day serves as a symbol of unity, pride, and loyalty for the people of the UAE, reminding everyone of the nation’s shared identity and the vision of its founding leaders.
