UAE Team Plants Flag and Founder’s Portraits on French Alps in -3°C

A UAE expedition team has proudly raised portraits of the country’s founding leaders along with the national flag at the top of the French Alps, facing freezing temperatures that dropped to -3ºC.

This climb was part of the initiative called “From Desert Dunes to Snowy Peaks,” where ten skilled skiers from the UAE Skiers Academy travelled from Dubai to Geneva and then made their way to the Valtrans resort.

After days of tough training, the team successfully reached a 3,300-metre-high peak. There, they displayed a large portrait of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid as a tribute that also connects with the UAE’s 2026 “Year of the Family.”

This mission is another achievement under the Academy’s ongoing “Our Flag at the Summit” campaign, which aims to honor the nation on some of the world’s highest peaks.
