    Winners of the Emirates Young Scientist Competition Honored in UAE

    The 7th National Science, Technology, and Innovation (NSTI) Festival in the UAE recently concluded with the recognition and honoring of winners of various categories of the festival’s scientific competitions. The event was graced by Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, UAE Minister of Education, along with other dignitaries, academics, educators, and students.

    The Emirates Young Scientist Competition was one of the highlights of the festival, showcasing innovative projects from Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 students in 424 schools across the UAE. Saif Hassan Ibrahim Muhammad Karam from the Secondary Model School for boys in Sharjah secured first place, while Mira Osama Al-Kahhala from Dubai National School; Al Barsha earned second place.

    In his address, Dr. Al Falasi emphasized the significance of fostering entrepreneurial thinking among students and empowering them to translate innovative projects from theoretical to practical applications in various scientific fields. He praised the students’ eagerness to learn from others’ experiences and leverage expert opinions to refine their ideas using robust methodologies.

    Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment, also congratulated the festival winners and reiterated the UAE’s commitment to highlighting students’ talents and unleashing their innovative ideas to create a generation capable of accelerating sustainable development.

    The 7th NSTI Festival featured various competitions, including the ‘KIDSPRENEUR’ competition targeting Kindergarten and Cycle 1 students and ‘The Next Founder Competition’ targeting undergraduate and postgraduate students. The festival also hosted a specialized conference featuring local and global speakers renowned in the fields of science, innovation, and entrepreneurship.


    Moreover, the Festival offered various entertainment and educational activities to enhance the overall experience. The festival witnessed strong community participation and showcased promising innovative projects from young minds. The innovative ideas presented over the five days reaffirmed the government’s wise vision of empowering youth to become the leaders of tomorrow.
