UAE Records New Winter Low as Temperatures Hit Chilly 2.3°C

The UAE experienced a dip in temperature as the country recorded its lowest temperature of the year at 2.3°C on Saturday, March 2. This comes after a week of pleasant weather, with rains lashing the Gulf nation. The temperature dropped to an icy low of 2.4°C at Jais mountain in Ras Al Khaimah, just a day before the country recorded the year’s lowest temperature.

Other areas that recorded low temperatures included Jabal Al Rahba and Mebreh mountain, which registered 4.5°C and 5.5°C respectively. In Al Ain, residents took precautions to protect their cars from hail damage after authorities issued an alert on Thursday about the inclement weather.

The National Centre of Meteorology has warned of more inclement weather in the coming week, with varying intensities of thunder, lightning, and rainfall expected from Monday to Wednesday.

The Met Department has stated that a surface low-pressure system will affect the country, with temperatures expected to decrease in the south. On Wednesday, the cloud cover is expected to clear a little, resulting in a decrease in rainfall.
