Dubai Earns Praise for Making Public Beaches Autism-Friendly

Dubai Municipality has made history by becoming the first in the world to have its public beaches certified as Certified Autism Centers (CAC) by the International Board of Certification and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). This important announcement was made at the AccessAbilities Expo 2024 and shows Dubai’s commitment to supporting people of determination and making sure all public facilities are inclusive.

The certification means that Dubai is dedicated to creating friendly environments for people with autism. This aligns with the city’s vision of being the best place to live and visit. The beaches now have special features and facilities designed to accommodate individuals with autism, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for everyone who visits.

Ibrahim Mohammad Juma, the Director of Public Beaches at Dubai Municipality, stated that this achievement reflects Dubai’s reputation as a leading tourist destination.

He assured that the municipality will continue to maintain high international standards and provide unique, inclusive experiences for both residents and tourists at Dubai’s public beaches. This initiative not only enhances the beach experience for individuals with autism but also promotes awareness and understanding within the community, making Dubai a more inclusive city for all.
