Etihad Rail has reached a major milestone by successfully completing the UAE’s first-ever rail shipment of passenger vehicles, marking an important shift in the country’s automotive logistics landscape. The achievement reflects a growing move toward more efficient and modern transportation methods, as the UAE continues to strengthen its infrastructure and diversify its supply chain networks.
The operation was carried out in partnership with Al Masaood Automobiles, with Nissan vehicles transported from eastern ports to the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi using the national rail network. This development highlights the increasing role of rail in handling high-value cargo, helping to improve delivery efficiency, reduce road congestion, and lower environmental impact. Officials noted that the initiative enhances reliability and scalability in logistics while supporting the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 goals, further expanding the role of rail freight across various industries.
