The United States has approved military sales exceeding $8.6 billion to key Gulf allies, including Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. The move reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen defense cooperation and enhance regional security capabilities across the Middle East.
A significant portion of the package is allocated to Qatar, which will receive Patriot missile defense system support valued at approximately $4.01 billion. The deal also includes advanced precision weapon systems for both Qatar and the UAE, aimed at improving their defensive readiness and operational effectiveness. Meanwhile, Kuwait is set to acquire an integrated battle command system worth around $2.5 billion, designed to modernize its military coordination and response capabilities.
Officials say the agreements are part of a broader strategy to support allied nations in maintaining stability and deterrence in a strategically important region. The deals are also expected to deepen long-standing security partnerships while ensuring that these countries are equipped with advanced technology to address evolving defense challenges.
