Saudi Arabia’s Seha Virtual Hospital has successfully completed 11 consecutive remote robotic surgeries, enabling patients to receive specialized surgical care without having to travel to major medical centers.
Surgical teams based in Riyadh remotely operated on patients in Hail and other locations across the Kingdom, with procedures including lung surgery, sleeve gastrectomy, hernia repair, pelvic exploration and hysterectomy.
The achievement is part of Saudi Arabia’s national remote surgery program, which aims to expand access to advanced and regulated robotic healthcare.
The technology used in the procedures has been approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, highlighting the Kingdom’s growing adoption of digital healthcare and AI-powered medical technologies in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
