Elon Musk’s The Boring Company is reportedly preparing for a major expansion in the United Arab Emirates, with plans to develop more than 150 kilometres of underground tunnels across the country.
The ambitious project is expected to focus on expanding underground transportation infrastructure and could become a significant step in the UAE’s efforts to explore faster and more efficient urban mobility solutions.
The development comes as The Boring Company has reportedly raised around Dh11 billion in a new funding round, giving the company an estimated valuation of approximately $23 billion.
The UAE is leading the investment round, highlighting the country’s growing interest in advanced transportation technologies and large-scale infrastructure projects.
The planned tunnel network reflects Musk’s broader vision of using underground transportation systems to help reduce congestion and improve movement within rapidly growing cities.
If implemented as planned, the UAE project could become one of the company’s largest international tunnel initiatives.
