Abu Dhabi residents and property owners could face fines of up to Dh2,000 for storing items on balconies and rooftops in ways that affect a building’s appearance or raise health and safety concerns.
Under regulations issued by the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport, the first violation carries a Dh500 fine.
A second violation can result in a Dh1,000 penalty, while a third or repeated offence may lead to a Dh2,000 fine.
The regulations cover clutter, unused furniture, construction materials and other objects stored in outdoor areas that could affect the appearance, cleanliness or safety of residential buildings.
Authorities will conduct inspections to monitor compliance and encourage residents and property owners to keep balconies and rooftops clean, organised and properly maintained.
The measures are intended to support safer residential environments while maintaining the overall appearance of Abu Dhabi’s buildings and communities.
