Abu Dhabi has introduced a convenient and modern way to travel across the city with its new Automated Rapid Transport (ART) system. This innovative transport system operates like a tram but utilizes electric buses, providing a smooth and efficient mode of transportation within the city.
Covering a 27-kilometer route, the ART system includes 25 stations scattered throughout Abu Dhabi, ensuring convenient access for residents and visitors alike.
In its initial phase, the ART system will operate from Friday to Sunday, connecting major landmarks such as Al Reem Mall to Marina Mall. The route will pass through significant streets like Zayed the First Street and the Corniche Street on Abu Dhabi Island.
The introduction of the ART system is an important part of Abu Dhabi’s Smart Mobility Strategy. The strategy focuses on creating a sustainable and efficient transport sector by leveraging advanced technologies. The ultimate goal is to enhance transportation and encourage the use of eco-friendly and sustainable means of travel, benefiting both the community and the environment.
