Abu Dhabi Opens New Emergency Rescue Points Across the Emirate

Abu Dhabi has opened multiple emergency rescue points across the Emirate. The initiative, reported by Abu Dhabi Media Office, involves the establishment of 37 rescue and firefighting sites.

These sites are strategically placed to optimize emergency response times in the event of accidents. The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA) ensures that each of the 37 sites, distributed as 16 in Abu Dhabi, 14 in Al Ain, and seven in Al Dhafra region, is equipped with advanced technology and equipment.

Brig Salem Abdullah Al Dhaheri, acting director general of ADCDA, emphasized that the initiative’s primary objective is to enhance safety within the Emirate. The comprehensive strategy encompasses the training of human resources and the development of programs and operations to further improve emergency response capabilities.

This safety initiative coincides with the enforcement of regulations requiring homeowners to install smoke and fire detectors and subscribe to the UAE alert system by January 1. The UAE Cabinet approved this measure in 2020, applicable to both existing and planned residences.

Notably, between May and October of the current year, ADCDA conducted inspections on 10,753 residential and commercial buildings in Abu Dhabi. Subsequently, 21,271 warnings were issued for buildings found non-compliant with fire safety regulations in Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.

Property owners were granted an undisclosed grace period to rectify non-compliant elements, with ongoing monitoring by Civil Defence. The overarching plan aims to elevate fire safety standards throughout the entire Emirate of Abu Dhabi, aligning with the commitment to proactive safety measures and efficient emergency response.
