Dubai Opens 700-Metre Al Qudra Bridge, Cuts Waiting Time From 7 Minutes to 1 Minute

Dubai has opened a new 700-metre, four-lane Al Qudra bridge, marking another major milestone in the emirate’s ongoing efforts to upgrade its road infrastructure and improve traffic movement.

The newly opened bridge has the capacity to accommodate up to 6,000 vehicles per hour, helping improve traffic flow toward Al Qudra City and surrounding residential and development areas.

The wider intersection improvement project is expected to significantly increase road capacity, raising the number of vehicles that can pass through the area from around 7,800 to 19,400 vehicles per hour. The upgrade is also projected to reduce waiting times by approximately 85%, bringing average delays down from nearly seven minutes to just one minute.

Additional ramps are planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, further improving connectivity and allowing motorists to travel more efficiently in different directions.

The project is part of Dubai’s broader investment in modern road infrastructure, supporting growing communities, easing congestion and creating faster, smoother journeys across the emirate as urban development continues to expand.
