Dubai Police has trained 476 school bus drivers and supervisors as part of an awareness programme focused on strengthening student safety during daily school transportation.
The programme provided guidance on safe driving practices, traffic regulations, speed limits and the proper use of designated pick-up and drop-off areas.
Participants were also reminded of the importance of conducting mandatory safety checks before and after every journey.
The training included 289 school bus drivers and 187 supervisors, who were briefed on their responsibilities in ensuring students remain seated, follow safety instructions and behave appropriately throughout the journey.
Supervisors were given particular attention regarding post-trip inspections. They were reminded to carefully check the entire bus after every journey to ensure that no student remains inside after the vehicle reaches its destination.
Students were also encouraged to play their part in maintaining a safe journey by waiting in designated areas, boarding buses calmly, remaining seated while travelling and following instructions from drivers and supervisors.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to promote safer school transportation and strengthen safety awareness among everyone involved in students’ daily journeys.
