A labour court in Abu Dhabi has ruled in favor of a former employee, ordering his company to pay Dh251,461 after he was dismissed without receiving his full financial entitlements, despite serving the organization for more than 13 years.

The employee, who was earning a monthly salary of Dh15,700, initially filed a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in an effort to recover his unpaid dues. When the issue could not be resolved through administrative channels, he escalated the matter to the labour court.

In his case, the worker stated that the company had failed to pay several benefits owed to him at the time of his termination. These included outstanding wages, end-of-service gratuity, compensation for unused leave, and notice period pay. He argued that these payments were his legal right under UAE labour laws and should have been settled upon his dismissal.

After reviewing the case and examining the evidence presented, the court ruled in his favor, confirming that the company had not fulfilled its legal obligations. It subsequently directed the employer to pay the full outstanding amount.

The ruling highlights the importance of compliance with labour laws in the UAE and reinforces the protection of workers’ rights, ensuring that employees receive all due benefits upon the end of their service.
