Salik, the toll gate operator in Dubai, has announced a record revenue of over AED 2.1 billion in 2023. The toll usage revenue, which accounts for 87.5% of the total revenue, increased by 11.7% YoY to AED 1.845 billion, the strongest performance since Salik’s inception in 2007. The fourth quarter of 2023 alone saw revenue-generating trips of 123.2 million, up 11.1% YoY, while the Al Maktoum Bridge gate saw a 53.6% YoY increase in revenue-generating trips, excluding paid taxi trips, during Q4 2023, due to the nearby floating bridge’s ongoing closure and the diversion of traffic through the gate.
Salik’s net profit for 2023 reached AED 1.098 billion, and the inflow of tourists and the movement of individuals across Dubai are the major reasons behind its strong performance in 2023. The Board of Directors has recommended distributing 100% of H2 2023 net profit of AED 550 million as dividends to shareholders, which works out to 7.33 fils per share.
Salik has been playing a vital role in Dubai’s transportation infrastructure since 2007. The toll gate operator has been facilitating the city’s smooth flow of traffic while generating revenue for the government.
