Dubai Traffic Gets 30% Boost! RTA Upgrade Cuts Al Quoz Peak-Hour Journeys

Dubai Completes Major Upgrades on Al Marabea’ Street in Al Quoz

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a major road improvement project on Al Marabea’ Street in Al Quoz, aimed at improving traffic flow, increasing road capacity and making movement through the area more efficient.

The project covers a 1.1-kilometre stretch of Al Marabea’ Street between the Al Khail Road exit and Al Asayel Street. Following the upgrades, road capacity has increased by 30%, while peak-hour travel times have been reduced by up to 30%. Traffic queues at one of the area’s key intersections have also dropped by around 50%, helping ease congestion during busy periods.

As part of the improvements, RTA widened the intersection and added a new traffic lane leading toward Street 16A.

Several access points have also been enhanced, while new lighting poles have been installed to improve visibility and overall road infrastructure.

The project is also being supported by additional facilities designed to improve connectivity for motorists and pedestrians. These include a service road, a dedicated pedestrian walkway and a new access point connecting the area directly from Al Khail Road.

Further works are expected to be completed by the end of August 2026, adding to Dubai’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its road network and accommodate increasing traffic volumes across key commercial and residential areas.

The upgrades are expected to provide smoother journeys, reduce congestion and improve accessibility for residents, commuters and businesses operating in Al Quoz.
