E-Scooters Allowed on Dubai Metro Once Again

Travelers in Dubai can now bring foldable e-scooters onto the Dubai Metro and Tram thanks to new rules announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on October 4. This is a big change since these e-scooters were banned in March due to safety concerns.

Under the updated guidelines, foldable e-scooters are allowed, but there are specific rules that riders must follow. First, passengers need to make sure their scooters are completely folded and stored in designated areas on the Metro and Tram. Riding the scooters inside the stations is not allowed, which helps keep everyone safe and the stations free of clutter.

To ensure safety and ease of use, only certain types of e-scooters are approved. The e-scooters must be foldable and should not have seats. They must also meet size requirements, measuring no more than 120cm x 70cm x 40cm, and they should weigh no more than 20kg. These rules apply during the operating hours of the Metro and Tram.

This change aims to make commuting more convenient for people in Dubai. With the ability to use foldable e-scooters, passengers can enjoy a more flexible and efficient way to travel.

This is particularly beneficial for those who want to avoid traffic or make their journeys quicker. Overall, the new guidelines make it easier for travelers to navigate the city while ensuring safety and comfort on public transport.
