A talented 12-year-old student from the UAE is preparing to represent the country at the internationally renowned Scripps National Spelling Bee after securing victory at a major spelling championship held in Dubai.
Grade 7 student Seth Warren Bacongallo earned the opportunity to compete on the global stage through his remarkable spelling skills, dedication, and consistent hard work. Speaking about his achievement, Seth revealed that participating in the prestigious competition had been a dream of his since early childhood.
To prepare for the event, the young contestant followed a demanding routine that included months of intensive practice, early morning study sessions, vocabulary drills, and continuous learning. He also credited his family for their unwavering encouragement and support throughout his journey, saying their motivation played a key role in helping him stay focused and confident.
Seth will now travel to Washington, D.C., where he will compete against 247 participants from different countries in one of the world’s most respected spelling competitions. His qualification is being celebrated as a proud moment for the UAE, highlighting the country’s growing focus on academic excellence, youth achievement, and international educational participation.
