Now Users Can Link Any Device With WhatsApp Web Via Phone Number

WhatsApp, the widely used messaging app owned by Meta, is constantly bringing new features to enhance user experience. This time, the company is rolling out a convenient feature that allows users to access their WhatsApp accounts on WhatsApp Web using their phone numbers.

The new feature, called “link with phone number,” is currently available to beta users through the Google Play Beta Program and will soon be accessible to more people. Some users may even be able to try different versions of the app to access this feature. Unlike before, where users had to scan QR codes, this new update enables users to easily link their accounts with their phone numbers.

    How to Use this Feature?

To use this feature, users will find a new option when trying to link a new device.

    • By selecting the “link with phone number” option, users can connect their device to their primary account phone number using a one-time code generated by WhatsApp Web.
    • To get started, open WhatsApp Web on the desired desktop device and select the “link with phone number” option.
    • Enter your phone number and country, and you will receive an 8-character code.
    • Enter this code into WhatsApp after receiving a notification.

This feature is a significant improvement, eliminating the need for QR codes and allowing users to access their accounts on any device. The previous limitations with QR codes, such as the inability to access device cameras, are now overcome with this advanced feature. Users can seamlessly connect to WhatsApp Web.

Moreover, with this update, users can link up to four devices simultaneously without needing their primary phone. This flexibility enhances accessibility and convenience, enabling users to use WhatsApp on multiple devices.

8 New Features Introduced in a Single Year

Throughout the year, WhatsApp has introduced eight new features to enhance the messaging experience. These include

    • Password-protected chats
    • Saving disappearing messages
    • Animated emojis
    • True caller integration
    • Using one account on up to four phones
    • Discreetly exiting group chats
    • Preventing screenshots on view once messages.

Note: It is important to note that this advanced feature currently only supports linking WhatsApp accounts to WhatsApp Web and does not extend to secondary mobile devices using phone numbers.
