Saudi Arabia Announces to Start New Umrah Season: Here’s How to Get Permit

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially announced the start of the Umrah season for certain countries. This means that Saudi residents and citizens, GCC nationals, and foreign residents in the GCC countries can now obtain permits for Umrah through the Nusuk and Tawakkalna applications. The Ministry’s objective is to facilitate the arrival of Umrah performers, allowing them to carry out their religious rituals with devotion and reverence.

Following the successful completion of the Hajj operation, which received global appreciation, the Saudi Arabian government is now shifting its focus to the Umrah season. This year, the kingdom hosted over 2 million pilgrims for Hajj, without any reported incidents, marking a significant milestone in the post pandemic era.

As the Hajj season concludes, thousands of pilgrims are returning to their hometowns, while others will remain in the kingdom for a few more weeks. During the Hajj season, the issuance of Umrah permits was temporarily suspended. However, with the commencement of the Umrah season, individuals can once again embark on their spiritual journey.

Umrah, a voluntary pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia, holds deep significance for Muslims. Unlike Hajj, which is obligatory and has specific dates, Umrah can be performed at any time of the year. It involves various rituals in and around the Grand Mosque, symbolizing devotion, humility, and the pursuit of blessings from Allah.

To streamline the process, the Ministry introduced the electronic visa for Umrah, accessible through the Nusuk platform. This advancement aims to enhance convenience for pilgrims and simplify the permit acquisition procedure.

With the Umrah season officially underway, individuals eligible for permits can now plan their visit and experience the spiritual journey of a lifetime in the sacred city of Makkah.
