Saudi Arabia has introduced its first hydrogen-powered autonomous freight truck, representing a significant advancement in the Kingdom’s efforts to promote sustainable transportation and innovative logistics solutions.
The heavy-duty vehicle was developed through a collaboration between Ismail Abudawood & Procter & Gamble Limited and Hyperview. Powered entirely by clean hydrogen fuel, the truck produces zero carbon emissions and is capable of traveling up to 1,500 kilometers on a single refill, making it a promising alternative to conventional diesel-powered freight transport.
The truck is equipped with advanced self-driving technology and AI-driven digital systems designed to enhance operational efficiency, improve road safety, and optimize supply chain performance. By reducing fuel-related emissions while increasing transportation reliability, the project demonstrates the growing role of emerging technologies in the logistics sector.
The launch aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader sustainability goals and its vision of developing greener mobility solutions. It also highlights the Kingdom’s commitment to investing in clean energy technologies and modern transport infrastructure as it works toward building a more environmentally responsible and technologically advanced future.
