Saudi Arabia has opened a new visa application center in Damascus as Riyadh moves to strengthen economic and commercial ties with Syria.
The facility will process visa applications linked to freight transportation and passenger travel, helping facilitate greater movement of people, goods and services between the two countries.
The Saudi Embassy said the center is intended to support stronger economic relations and contribute to Syria’s recovery amid continuing economic challenges.
The development comes as Riyadh expands cooperation with Syria’s interim government and supports efforts aimed at restoring stability and improving international economic access. Saudi Arabia has also backed Syria’s reconstruction through major investment initiatives.
