His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved plans for a new 80-kilometre Fourth Corridor aimed at expanding Dubai’s road network and strengthening links with the UAE’s federal road system.
The corridor will connect Al Faya Road in Abu Dhabi with Al Shanouf Road in Sharjah. The large-scale infrastructure project is planned to include 12 lanes in each direction, supported by 72 bridges and 17 tunnels.
The new route is expected to improve connections between major areas, increase road capacity and support smoother movement between the emirates.
The project is part of Dubai’s ongoing investment in transport infrastructure and long-term plans to improve regional connectivity.
