Saudi Arabia has sent a team of four outstanding students to represent the Kingdom at the 3rd International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad in Astana, Kazakhstan, where participants from more than 100 countries are competing in one of the world’s most prestigious AI competitions for high school students.
The event, taking place from August 2 to 8, brings together some of the brightest young minds to showcase their knowledge and innovation in artificial intelligence.
The Saudi students secured their places after successfully completing a rigorous training program organized by Mawhiba in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
The program provided intensive instruction in machine learning, algorithm design, data analysis, computational thinking, and advanced problem-solving, equipping the team with the skills needed to compete at an international level.
Saudi Arabia enters this year’s competition aiming to build on its impressive performance at the previous AI Olympiad in Beijing, where the national team earned four bronze medals.
The continued participation reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to developing future-ready talent, strengthening AI education, and investing in innovation as part of its long-term vision to become a global leader in advanced technologies.
