UAE Schools to Have 185 Teaching Days in 2026-27 Academic Year

The UAE has officially approved the academic calendar for schools following the Ministry of Education curriculum for the 2026-27 academic year, confirming that students will complete a total of 185 teaching days.

The standardized calendar is intended to provide greater consistency across schools while helping students, parents, and educators plan the year more effectively.

According to the schedule, students will begin the new academic year on August 31, 2026, while teachers and administrative staff will return to schools a week earlier on August 24 to prepare classrooms, finalize academic plans, and complete administrative arrangements before the arrival of students.

The calendar also outlines a series of scheduled mid-term, winter, and spring breaks, ensuring students and staff have regular opportunities to rest and recharge throughout the year.

The academic year will officially conclude on July 2, 2027, marking the end of a structured school term designed to support both educational progress and student well-being.

The Ministry of Education stated that the updated calendar reflects its commitment to maintaining high educational standards while promoting a balanced learning environment.

By providing a clear and predictable schedule, the ministry aims to strengthen long-term academic planning, improve operational efficiency across schools, and create a sustainable education system that benefits students, teachers, and families across the UAE.
