More than 30 cafés across the UAE are joining a special awareness campaign ahead of World MS Day, offering residents free or discounted coffee while promoting understanding and support for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS).
The initiative, organised in collaboration with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, will take place on May 30 and 31 in several cities including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Al Ain. Participating cafés will welcome customers with complimentary beverages, discounted drinks, and awareness activities designed to encourage conversations about the neurological condition.
The campaign aims to educate the public about MS, a chronic disease that affects the central nervous system and impacts thousands of people worldwide. Organisers hope the relaxed café environment will help reduce stigma surrounding the condition and create a stronger sense of community support for those affected.
Residents visiting participating cafés will also have the opportunity to learn more about the symptoms, challenges, and experiences faced by individuals living with MS, while showing solidarity through the nationwide initiative.
Officials involved in the campaign said the goal is not only to spread awareness ahead of World MS Day, but also to inspire empathy, inclusion, and greater public understanding through simple community-driven activities that bring people together over coffee and conversation.
