The sixth China-Arab States Expo opened on September 21 in Yinchuan, capital of northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, symbolizing another milestone in economic and trade cooperation between China and the Arab states.
The offline exhibition area covers nearly 40,000 square meters, and more than 1,000 domestic and foreign enterprises are participating.
In the clean energy exhibition area of the Sixth China-Arab States Expo, with the theme of “Deepen Energy Cooperation, Create a Green Future”,
A total of 18 enterprises in power grid, nuclear energy, energy storage, and hydrogen energy, including State Grid and China General Nuclear Power Group, as well as 7 NEV auto enterprises in passenger vehicles, off-road vehicles, and engineering vehicles, including Aito, GAC AION, and Hongqi, displaying new concepts, new technologies and new products that are leading the current trend of green and low-carbon development.
New achievements such as Hualong One nuclear power unit of CGN, Intelligent photovoltaic cleaning robot of SNEGRID Technology, Energy storage system of Hendera, Solar thermal power generation system of Shouhang High-Tech Energy Co.,Ltd. have attracted gaze from home and abroad.

“So far, our business involves solar thermal power generation, energy storage + multi-energy complementation, hydrogen energy utilization, power station air cooling, waste heat power generation, water technology, clean heating, etc. Up to now, the company has contracted more than 230 air cooling system units,” introduced Huang Wenbo, Vice Chairman and General Manager of Shouhang High-Tech Energy Co.,Ltd., said in an interview, “In addition, the total installed capacity of our projects invested in various climate and landform conditions such as drought and severe cold in the “Three North” regions (Northwest, North and Northeast China) has already surpassed 80,000MW.”

“Currently, our air-cooling products have been sold to West Africa, India, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Australia and other Belt and Road countries and regions. Due to solar thermal power station has the dual functions of energy storage and peak shaving, it has the advantage of serving as a basic power supply for peak regulation in some areas. Furthermore, some of our overseas solar thermal projects are under negotiation. As is well-known that the Arab region has abundant solar thermal resources, we hope to further expand our development roadmap here,” Huang Wenbo added.
The reporter learned that in 2023, China’s National Energy Administration issued a notice, calling for the annual new start-up of solar thermal power generation nationwide to reach about 3 million kilowatts during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period (2021-2025), with the domestic market reaching 54 billion yuan. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA)’s forecast, China’s solar thermal power generation market will reach 29GW of installed capacity by 2030 and 118GW of installed capacity by 2050, signifying a trillion-level market size and is sufficient to drive many partner countries to jointly explore green development paths.
With the skyrocketing of power systems with new energy as the main body, the proportion of intermittent and unstable new energy sources is increasing day by day, which requires larger-scale energy storage power supply, peaking power supply and basic power supply. Therefore, solar thermal power stations with higher efficiency, lower cost, and better cost-effectiveness will surely emerge one after another to serve the new energy system. “In the dual context of globalization and carbon emission reduction, cooperation in the field of clean energy between China and Arab countries and countries and regions along the Belt and Road not only has huge potential, but is also full of far-reaching strategic significance,” Huang Wenbo concluded.
