The UAE Astronaut Program is set to reach another milestone next month as the second batch of graduates prepare to complete their training. The two successful candidates, Nora AlMatrooshi and Mohammad AlMulla, were selected from a pool of over 4,000 applicants to undergo intensive training at NASA’s Johnson Space Centre.
Following their graduation on March 5, the astronauts will embark on specific assignments and missions, both at NASA and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) in Dubai. The MBRSC is also developing the MBZ-SAT, the most advanced commercial satellite in the region, which is set to be completed by the middle of this year.
The UAE’s investment in the space sector has become an integral part of its economy and signifies the international recognition and trust it has earned through a decade of dedicated hard work.
