The Saudi government has made it compulsory for all Umrah pilgrims from Pakistan to get vaccinated against polio before traveling. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has advised travelers to receive the polio vaccine at least four weeks before their departure. They must also carry proof of vaccination when traveling.

According to Saudi health guidelines, people coming from countries where polio is still a concern, including Pakistan, need to take an oral polio vaccine (OPV) at least six weeks before their journey. In addition, they will have to take another dose when they arrive in Saudi Arabia.

Failure to follow these vaccination rules could cause serious problems for travelers. It may lead to travel delays, legal issues, or even being denied entry. To avoid any trouble, airlines and Umrah operators are responsible for ensuring that all pilgrims meet the vaccination requirements before departure.

This step has been taken to protect public health and prevent the spread of polio, ensuring a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience for everyone.
