Salik’s 2024 Net Profit Rises with Two New Toll Gates, UAE

Salik, Dubai’s toll-gate operator, reported a strong financial performance in 2024, with its net profit rising to Dh1.16 billion. This marks an increase from Dh1 billion in the previous year.

One of the key reasons behind this growth was the expansion of Salik’s toll network. In November 2024, the company introduced two new toll gates, bringing the total number of toll locations in Dubai to ten. Additionally, Salik introduced a new pricing system where toll rates vary based on the time of day, helping optimize traffic flow and revenue.

Despite the introduction of a 9% corporate tax on January 1, 2024, Salik still managed to achieve a profit increase of 6.1%. Another factor that contributed to this growth was a reduction in the concession fee that Salik pays to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Previously, the company paid 25% of its revenue as a concession fee, but this was lowered to 22.5% starting April 1, 2024, allowing Salik to retain a larger share of its earnings.
