Flydubai will restart direct flights between Dubai and Damascus starting June 1, 2025, after a 12-year break. This move makes Flydubai the first airline from the UAE to resume services to Syria, following approval from the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
The flights will depart from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport and land at Damascus International Airport. This route reopening is expected to help improve travel and business connections between the two countries.
Flydubai’s CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said the airline is focused on reconnecting destinations that have been without direct flight services for a long time. He added that restarting this route shows their commitment to serving markets that need better air travel options.
Ticket prices for return trips will start at AED 2,000 for Economy Class and AED 10,000 for Business Class. The launch is perfectly timed to match the high travel demand expected during Eid Al Adha and the summer holidays.
This new development is likely to be welcomed by travelers, especially those with family or business ties in Syria. It also reflects improving regional relations and growing demand for air travel across the Middle East.
Flydubai’s return to Damascus marks a significant step toward normalizing air connections and opening up new opportunities for trade, tourism, and personal travel. With this new route, Flydubai continues to grow its network and offer more choices for travelers in the region.
