Over 10,000 New Vacancies Coming up in UAE’s Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah is on the brink of a major employment boom, with over 10,000 new jobs set to be created in the hospitality sector. This surge in job opportunities is due to several new hotels opening up in the region, including the highly regarded Wynn Resorts brand. As a key contributor to the UAE’s economy, this expansion is expected to bring about positive economic growth and development in Ras Al Khaimah.

The new jobs will be available over the next few years, providing a valuable source of income and stability for the local community. With the hospitality industry experiencing a resurgence following the pandemic, these new job openings are expected to be highly sought after by job seekers in the region.

The launch of Intercontinental, Hampton, and Movenpick hotels in Ras Al Khaimah in 2023 was just the beginning. The Anantara Hotel in Mina Al Arab and the Sofitel Hotel in Al Hamra are set to open this year, with several other major players announcing investments in the region, including Aldar, Abu Dhabi National Hotels, and Emaar. The US-based Wynn Resorts will also be opening a $3.9 billion, 1,000-plus room hotel in the area in the coming years, which will include a gaming area and other features.

Raki Phillips, the CEO of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, expects that more than 10,000 new employees will be recruited by the hotels to operate these new properties by 2030, if not sooner. He also revealed that a master plan for the entire emirate has been developed to ensure sustainable development and growth that aligns with the region’s plans.

The growth in tourism shows no signs of slowing down, with Ras Al Khaimah surpassing its 2019 tourist numbers with a 13% increase, reaching 1.13 million visitors. With the Emirate’s spectacular natural attractions, such as the highest mountains in the UAE, 64km of white sand beaches, and adventure activities like the longest zipline and hiking trails, it’s no wonder that the region is transforming into a global destination. Phillips believes that by the end of the decade, Ras Al Khaimah will be able to attract five million tourists a year.
