Dubai welcomed 8.68 million international tourists between January and May 2025, showing a 7% rise compared to the same time last year. In 2024, the city received 8.12 million visitors during this period. This growth proves that Dubai remains a popular and attractive destination for travelers from around the world.
In May 2025 alone, around 1.53 million people visited the city, as stated in the Tourism Performance Report by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).
Western Europe was the top region sending tourists to Dubai. It made up 22% of the total visitors, with nearly 1.92 million people coming from countries in that region. Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Eastern Europe were next, together accounting for about 1.4 million visitors, or 16% of the total.
Dubai continues to grow as a global hotspot because of its luxury lifestyle, world-class shopping, family-friendly attractions, and impressive events held throughout the year. Whether it’s the stunning beaches, famous landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, or shopping festivals, the city offers something for everyone.
The rise in visitors is also a result of strong tourism strategies, better airline connectivity, and relaxed visa rules that make it easier for tourists to visit.
Dubai’s focus on hospitality, safety, and innovation is helping it build a strong tourism economy. With numbers continuing to rise, the city is well on track to reach its yearly tourism goals and maintain its place as one of the top travel destinations in the world.
