No One Can Force Delivery Riders to Work in Mid-Day Heat: UAE Govt

The UAE has reinforced its commitment to protecting delivery riders during the peak summer season by ensuring they cannot be required to work during the mandatory midday heat break.

The initiative is designed to safeguard workers from extreme temperatures and reduce the health risks associated with prolonged exposure to intense summer heat.

To support this effort, more than 12,000 air-conditioned rest stations have been made available across the country, providing delivery riders with comfortable spaces to rest, cool down, and recover between deliveries.

The nationwide program runs from June 15 to September 15 and is being implemented with the support of government authorities in collaboration with leading delivery platforms.

In addition, riders can conveniently use their delivery applications to locate the nearest cooling station, making it easier to access safe rest areas throughout their working day.

The initiative reflects the UAE’s continued focus on improving worker welfare, promoting safer working conditions, and prioritizing the health and well-being of outdoor workers during the hottest months of the year.
