The UAE women’s jiu-jitsu team delivered an impressive performance on the opening day of the 2026 Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in Abu Dhabi, securing three gold medals and making a strong statement on the international stage.
Asma Al Hosani, Balqees Al Hashmi, and Shamma Al Kalbani each claimed gold in their respective categories, showcasing exceptional skill, determination, and competitive strength. The UAE team also secured two silver medals, taking its total medal haul on the opening day to five.
The latest achievements have pushed the UAE’s overall medal tally in the championship to 57 medals, further highlighting the country’s growing prominence in international jiu-jitsu.
The strong performance by the women’s team also reflects the increasing participation and success of Emirati athletes in global combat sports competitions.
