    The UAE is advancing its cloud-seeding program by integrating artificial intelligence (AI), nanotechnology, and advanced weather forecasting to improve rainfall in its desert climate. By using AI-powered weather models, scientists can accurately identify the most suitable clouds for seeding, while specially developed nanomaterials help water droplets merge more effectively, increasing the likelihood of rainfall.

    In 2026, the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology has already carried out around 80 cloud-seeding missions as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s water resources. The initiative is designed to increase annual rainfall by an estimated 10–25%, supporting water security and helping meet the growing demand for freshwater in an arid region.

    As climate change continues to put pressure on global water supplies, the UAE is investing heavily in innovative weather modification technologies and scientific research. By combining AI-driven forecasting with advanced cloud-seeding techniques, the country is positioning itself as a global leader in rain enhancement, sustainable water management, and climate resilience while exploring long-term solutions to address water scarcity.
