The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka has placed a strong spotlight on the important role young people play in strengthening cultural understanding and diplomatic relations between the UAE and Japan, highlighting youth engagement as a key pillar of international cooperation and future global partnerships.
During a special session held at Keio University in Tokyo, officials, students, and programme participants discussed how youth ambassadors from both countries contributed to promoting leadership, storytelling, cultural exchange, and meaningful international dialogue throughout Expo 2025 Osaka.
The Youth Ambassador Programme brought together 46 participants, including Emirati youth and Japanese students, in an initiative focused on leadership development, cultural diplomacy, communication skills, and personal growth. Through their involvement in Expo activities and public engagement sessions, the ambassadors helped visitors gain a deeper understanding of Emirati culture, traditions, innovation, and national values while also learning more about Japanese society and culture.
Participants played an active role in welcoming international visitors, sharing stories about the UAE’s heritage and future ambitions, and encouraging conversations that strengthened friendship and mutual respect between people from different backgrounds. Officials said the programme created valuable opportunities for young people to build confidence, develop global perspectives, and represent their countries on an international stage.
The initiative was described as part of the UAE’s broader long-term commitment to investing in youth empowerment and building stronger international relationships through education, cultural exchange, and collaboration. Leaders involved in the programme noted that empowering young ambassadors helps create future generations capable of driving innovation, diplomacy, and global understanding.
The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka has attracted more than five million visitors, serving as a platform to showcase the country’s achievements, heritage, sustainability initiatives, and vision for the future. Officials said the continued success of the pavilion demonstrates how youth-led initiatives can play a powerful role in shaping lasting global connections and encouraging cooperation between nations.
