Saudi Arabia’s tourism industry achieved record-breaking growth in 2025, welcoming nearly 123 million domestic and international visitors, marking a 6 percent increase compared to the previous year. The milestone highlights the Kingdom’s accelerating transformation into one of the region’s fastest-growing travel destinations.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, the sector generated an all-time high of $81 billion in total tourism spending, reflecting rising demand across leisure, business, and local travel. International arrivals played a major role in this surge, contributing more than $176 billion in visitor spending, while domestic tourism also remained strong as more residents explored destinations within the country.
The growth aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to reduce reliance on oil by expanding sectors such as tourism, entertainment, and culture. Massive investments in infrastructure, luxury resorts, historical sites, and global events have significantly boosted the Kingdom’s appeal to travelers worldwide.
Officials say the continued rise in tourism numbers shows Saudi Arabia is increasingly being recognized as more than just a religious destination, with growing interest in its cultural heritage, modern attractions, and large-scale development projects. The tourism boom is also creating new jobs and playing a key role in diversifying the national economy.
