Abu Dhabi Set to Launch Air Taxi Services by End of 2026

Abu Dhabi is moving closer to introducing commercial air taxi services, with authorities aiming to launch operations by the end of 2026 or in early 2027. Officials have confirmed that the ambitious project has entered its final stages, bringing the emirate a step closer to becoming one of the first cities in the world to integrate electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft into its public transportation network.

Alongside the air taxi initiative, Abu Dhabi is developing a unified smart mobility platform that will enable residents and visitors to plan, book, and pay for multiple modes of transport through a single mobile application. The platform is designed to simplify daily travel by seamlessly connecting public transport, taxis, air taxis, and other mobility services within one digital ecosystem.

The introduction of electric air taxis, combined with advanced infrastructure and intelligent transport technologies, reflects Abu Dhabi’s broader vision of creating a smarter, more sustainable, and highly connected urban environment. By embracing next-generation mobility solutions, the emirate aims to reduce travel times, improve transport efficiency, support environmental sustainability, and strengthen its position as a global leader in innovation and future transportation.
