Dubai has expanded its truck rest area network by 56%, adding 364 new parking spaces across seven locations as part of efforts to strengthen the emirate’s logistics infrastructure and enhance road safety.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has increased the total capacity to 1,007 truck parking spaces, with the largest expansion taking place at Al Ruwayyah 2.
The project supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Road Safety Strategy 2026–2033 by reducing illegal roadside parking, easing traffic congestion, and improving conditions for heavy vehicle operators.
The upgraded facilities include driver accommodation, restaurants, fuel stations, vehicle maintenance services, and secure waiting areas, providing truck drivers with safer and more convenient rest stops across Dubai.
