UAE Enters ‘Jamrat Al Qayth’ on July 3, Bringing 40 Days of 50°C Heat

The United Arab Emirates is set to enter Jamrat Al Qayth, the hottest and driest phase of the summer season, beginning July 3 and continuing until August 10.

This 40-day period is traditionally known for its extreme weather conditions, with temperatures soaring across the country and creating some of the harshest summer conditions of the year.

According to weather experts, daytime temperatures are expected to range between 41°C and 43°C in coastal areas, while inland regions could experience temperatures of 45°C to 46°C.

During intense heatwaves, some desert locations may see temperatures climb above 50°C, making outdoor conditions particularly dangerous during the daytime.

Jamrat Al Qayth is also characterized by prolonged sunshine, minimal rainfall, and hot, dry samoom winds that can significantly increase the feeling of heat.

In addition, objects exposed to direct sunlight, including metal surfaces and parked vehicles, can reach temperatures of up to 70°C, posing serious burn and safety risks.

Authorities and health experts are urging residents to take extra precautions throughout this period. People are advised to stay well hydrated, avoid prolonged outdoor activities during the hottest hours of the day, wear light and breathable clothing, and never leave children or pets inside parked vehicles.

Employers and outdoor workers are also encouraged to follow heat safety guidelines to reduce the risk of heat exhaustion and heatstroke as the UAE enters its most intense phase of summer.
