Abu Dhabi Maritime has reminded boat owners, jet ski operators, and all marine users to familiarise themselves with the emirate’s maritime regulations, warning that violations can result in fines ranging from Dh500 to Dh30,000.
The move is aimed at strengthening safety standards, protecting the marine environment, and ensuring responsible use of Abu Dhabi’s waterways.
The authority has identified 33 maritime offences, covering a wide range of violations such as operating vessels without the required permits, causing maritime accidents, unsafe navigation, environmental damage, and failing to wear life jackets or other mandatory safety equipment.
Among the most serious offences are unauthorised maritime construction and environmental violations, which carry some of the highest financial penalties.
Officials have urged all marine users to obtain the necessary licences and permits before operating on the water and to strictly follow safety regulations.
They emphasised that compliance with these rules is essential for safeguarding lives, preserving Abu Dhabi’s marine ecosystem, and ensuring safe and sustainable maritime activities for everyone.
